Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s campaign was brimming with moments that we remember even now, but the one that gets spoken about more than most is the No Russian moment. It caused more than just a little bit of controversy when the game first came out, and it’s not hard to see why. As an undercover CIA agent trying to break into Makarov’s ranks, we not only witness, but also participate in the mass shooting of civilians in an airport. And sure, we can sit through the entire mission without firing a single bullet, we even if we do that, we still have to stand by and watch those civilians get mowed down by the group of terrorists accompanying us. The entire sequence is extremely unsettling and grisly, and not one that’s easily forgotten.
