Few multiplayer shooters have had as emotional a journey as WARDOGS in a few months, going from massive success to mixed impressions, especially after Season 2’s changes went down like a lead balloon. Developer Bulkhead is keen on improving and brought forward the Season 3 launch to do just that. On November 12th, it will introduce a new map, Sabatulo, focusing on “urban warfare and close-quarters combat.”
In a new video, the developer admitted Season 3 wouldn’t fix everything, but it will introduce something that should cut down on grinding roles players don’t enjoy: Multi-track unlocks. For example, 308 armor-piercing ammo won’t require hitting level 140 to unlock. Instead, you need to hit Pilot level 40.
Limited Servers are also coming and will limit the available weapons, ammo types, armor and even vehicles. Bulkhead is still working on the particulars, but the idea is “less power creep” while providing “all-out warfare.” The team is also enabling stricter anti-cheat measures, with 185,000 players set to be banned. It also showcases how it’s dealt with servers full of players exploiting the system to earn in-game money.
Season 3’s patch notes will go live early this week, so stay tuned for more details on what it offers. In the meantime, check out our early access review.
