Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 players finally received some new content last week with the arrival of Season 2. Unfortunately, it featured several nerfs, bumped up the difficulty of Operations, and introduced a frustrating new mechanic with Lethal difficulty (armor only restoring on finishers next to allies).

Players have since responded with negative reviews on Steam – over 2300 and rising, dropping the game to a “Mostly Positive” score with 79 percent approval. Fortunately, Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment are aware of this. The latter tweeted that it’s “closely” reading feedback for the patch and “actively working on another one, including balancing fixes.” It will arrive sometime this week, so stay tuned for detailed patch notes.

Despite the backlash against its patch, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has proven immensely successful since its launch, reaching 4.5 million players on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
