Wasteland 2 Opening Movie Arrives With Desert Rangers in Tow

Take back the world with some heavy back-up in hand.

We finally get a look at the story surrounding inXile Entertainment’s Wasteland 2. If you’re familiar with the first game – or Fallout – it’ll be very familiar. A post-apocalyptic world, roving gangs of criminals and cannibals, an overall lack of hope – all that good stuff. Of course, if the opening movie is any indication, there will be plenty of opportunity for heroics as well. Check it out above.

Wasteland 2 takes place after the first game – if the final scene didn’t establish that well enough – and will the group known as the Desert Rangers enforce order in a world gone bad. The game will feature the classic isometric perspective of the first game along with a decision making system that harkens back to the original Fallout games.

Scheduled to release at the end of August, Wasteland 2 is currently available on Steam Early Access. Head here to check it out and let us know what you think of the opening movie in the comments.
