If you backed inXile Entertainment’s Wasteland 3 on Fig, there’s a backer alpha that’s currently available to try. As announced earlier this month, the alpha is via Steam and will see players trying out the combat. Bugs and other issues are a given so keep that in mind.

You can check out some alpha gameplay for the title below courtesy of TedMosly on Twitter, which also offers a listen to the battle music. Much like the recent Gamescom trailer, combat looks visceral and has a satisfying punch while still appearing snappy. Non-backers will also get a demo via Steam Early Access but no release date has been provided till now.

Wasteland 3 is out on in Spring 2020 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. The latest trailer sees the Desert Rangers teaming up with the Patriarch of Colorado while trekking through some irradiated landscapes. Production values appear much higher than previous titles which should make the final product that much more enticing (especially when inXile considers it “our Fallout). Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
