As if there wasn’t enough criticism dogging Microsoft before the release of the Xbox One, it was recently revealed that the latest Watch Dogs Xbox One trailer had actually contained footage for the PS4 version. However, despite the knee-jerk response to hate on Microsoft for trying to “fool” gamers, the mistake actually happened on Ubisoft’s side.

Addressing the concern, director of programming for Xbox Live Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb stated on Reddit that, “Hey – just seeing this now. Good catch! Looks like there was a mix up at Ubisoft when they provided this video. I am told that they are on the case will provide more news on Watch_Dogs at a later date.”

Yes, that’s right – people didn’t realize that videos uploaded of third party games on the Xbox One channel aren’t all edited and created by Microsoft. Shocking, we know. What are your thoughts on the controversy? Let us know below in the comments.
