Following the release of patch 1.01 for Weird West, the immersive sim/action RPG has received its first event. Live for a limited time, the Community Plague Event sees all NPCs seemingly replaced with the undead who must be gunned down with extreme prejudice. Companions still seem safe and can join in the culling.

However, there also seems to be a “terrible sickness” that follows these pseudo-zombies. Potential to be infected, perhaps? Regardless, check out the latest trailer below which also provides a brief roadmap of upcoming content. A new Content Pack, Nimpossible Mode (which is likely a super-high difficulty), the Caged Ones Event and Mods will be coming later, all for free. There’s also the tease of “more to come.”

Weird West is currently available for Xbox One, PS4 and PC along with Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass. You can check out our review here where we praised its setting, story-telling and choice. Stay tuned for more details on future updates and content.
