Hunter: The Reckoning – Deathwish isn’t the only World of Darkness title published by Nacon. creā-ture Studios (Session: Skate Sim) has announced Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Rageborn – a top-down Metroidvania-style action-adventure title. Based on the 5th Edition, it sees players controlling a werewolf named Taylor, as he seeks vengeance in the Alaskan wilderness.
Homid form is ideal because you can use long-range firearms. Crinos is ideal for brawling, and Lupus is more like a traditional wolf with far more agility than either option. Shifting between these forms will significantly expand your exploration and combat capabilities. For example, drones that fly above the player may not go down easily if you’re in Werewolf form, but are easy pickings in human form, thanks to your guns.
This also plays a role in boss fights, including the Security Core. It’s essentially a confined lab environment with laser wires and other hazards. Even navigating the base it’s contained in becomes much easier if you’re using Lupus form, since you can gross gaps more easily.
Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Rageborn launches in 2027 for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. Here’s hoping for more details soon, and that it doesn’t turn out like 2022’s much-maligned Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood.
