Witchfire

It’s hard to believe that The Astronauts’ next game, Witchfire, was announced in December 2017 and ultimately took a little less than six years to enter early access. Nevertheless, it’s made steady progress and achieved a new milestone in the past two years, selling 500,000 copies in the process.

Witchfire initially debuted on the Epic Games Store for PC (check out our review) before eventually launching on Steam Early Access. Version 1.0 will arrive next year alongside the full story, but there’s at least one more update before that, which introduces the final region.

In the meantime, the latest update, The Reckoning, is now live, improving melee combat and adding the Morgenstern, Buckler and Katar as alternatives to the ol’ one-two punch. World Corruption is also new, introducing an element of “pushback” from the world, alongside Surges, which provide temporary bonuses and boost your abilities.

If that wasn’t enough, there’s even a shooting range to test out various weapons. Check out the full notes here for more details.
