Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus Weapons Will Be Even More Brutal Than In The First Game

"We like our weapons to feel very heavy, and brutal, and intense."

Wolfenstein: The New Order received a lot of praise for its successful revival of the original Wolfenstein formula, down to the atmosphere and, most of all, the visceral brutality and feel of weapons during the combat. And it looks like that brutality will not just be retained, but further expanded upon, in this year’s upcoming sequel Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus.

“We like our weapons to feel very heavy, and brutal, and intense. I think you’ll see a step up from the first game, which already was pretty over-the-top, but we pushed it a little bit further,” Creative Director Jens Matthies said in an interview with The Official PlayStation Magazine.

It’s good to see that The New Order‘s atmosphere, style, tone, and wit are not the only things that MachineGames have focused on with the sequel- after all, how The New Order played had as much of a part in that game’s success as its story and storytelling elements. The New Colossus should be a worthy successor to that game in all regards.

Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus is going to launch on October 27 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC, the same day as the launch of Assassin’s Creed Origins and Super Mario Odyssey.
