Microsoft has released its figures for the second quarter of Financial Year 2013, and in it the publisher has revealed that the Xbox 360 has now sold a total of 75.9 million units in all territories since its release in 2005.
Microsoft also reported that Xbox Live now has over 40 million subscriptions, but did not specify how many of those were Gold members and how many were Silver.
The gap between the lifetime sales of the Xbox 360 and the PS3 has been closing recently. The Xbox 360 crossed the 70 million sales mark in November of 2012, and just a month later, the PS3 hit that milestone too.
However, the PS3 has shipped 77 million units worldwide, according to Sony. Shipped is not sold, though, so for all practical purposes, the 360 still has a narrow lead over the PS3.
Stay tuned for more updates.
