Gears of War is a fantastic third-person shooter that puts all of humanity at risk from a heinous enemy. This story revolves around a specific event known as Emergence Day, a date named after the Locust horde unleashed their attack. Soldiers known as COG’s or Coalition of Ordered Governments became the last stand and protection to prevent the fall of civilization along with the extinction of humanity.
The original title of the Gears of War franchise holds a overall focus on Marcus Fenix and his Delta Squad which is a group, established for operating special tasks forces. Essentially their main job is preventing the Locust horde from sweeping over the entire nation. Set fourteen years after the events of Emergence Day, players will see a desolate world compared to what we know of today and also filled with alien creatures clearing the survivors out. Here’s hoping we can relive the awesome chainsaw moments once again on the Xbox One.
