Amidst recent financial reports from other companies, Microsoft has announced its gaming financial results for Q3 of the 2017 fiscal year which ended on June 30th 2017.

As part of the “More Personal Computing” side, Microsoft’s gaming business has seen its share of increase. Active Xbox Live users are up by 4 million year-on-year for a total of 53 million users (which is an 8 percent increase compared to last year). Gaming revenue increased by 3 percent thanks to software and service sales while Xbox software and services revenue alone grew by 11 percent year-on-year.

Overall revenue was at $23.3 billion GAAP while operating income was $5.3 billion GAAP (or $7.0 billion non-GAAP). The overall net income came to $6.5 billion GAAP which isn’t too bad for the company considering that the PS4 has pulled ahead of it in terms of sales for some time now.

Microsoft is currently gearing up to release the Xbox One X on November 7th with several high profile releases like Forza Motorsport 7 and Crackdown 3 also on the way.
