Xbox One has pulled ahead as the fastest selling console in Australia, as Sony ran into some trouble when it came to honoring their pre-order load. As a result, Xbox One has claimed the title of fastest selling console in the history of Australia. In the first three days of its release, a total of 65,917 Xbox Ones were sold.

As far as PS4 goes, the demand for the console is, in the words of SCE Australia managing director Michael Ephram, unprecedented:

“It’s been overwhelming,” he said. “I’ve been around since PlayStation One and we still haven’t seen the kind of demand we’re seeing now for PS4.

“The first weekend sales figures is just the beginning because we haven’t fulfilled all the pre-orders yet. We haven’t been able to completely fulfil the demand as yet but we will. Hopefully consumers can buy one.”

No matter who has the selling edge between PS4 and Xbox One, both consoles still outsold previously released Wii U.
