Xbox One Pricing and Release Date Announced: Retails for $499/499 Euro/£429

To be available this November.

Microsoft finally revealed the pricing for the Xbox One at its E3 press conference today, stating that it would retail for $499. It will also retail for £429 and 499 Euro when it releases across 21 countries this November.

Considering many online retailers pegged the price as being around $700 USD – to say nothing of the price in Euro and GBP – this is actually a very pleasant surprise. With the amount of features that Microsoft has planned with the console, including Kinect and Blu-ray, it’s amazing that they could deliver this price at all.

Of course, the console features cheaper DDR3 RAM, which makes it more cost effective (if you ask The Witness creator Jonathon Blow, that is). It will be interesting to see how Sony battles back these claims or answers the enormous lineup that Microsoft has put forth.

Dare we say there’s more to come? Because there is and it’s somehow more than glorious.
