Different Types of 4K
In the initial teasing stages, the Xbox One X was touted as a 4K gaming machine. There’s been plenty of “native” 4K claims but that doesn’t mean every Xbox One title on Xbox One X will run at the same 4K standard. Some games will have a dynamic resolution, others will use checkerboarding to achieve 4K (which the PS4 Pro also does) and some will support native 4K. Regardless, as per Microsoft’s labels, anything with the “4K Ultra HD” label will have a “2160p frame buffer output”.
