Banjo-Kazooie was one, alongside Super Mario, one of the prime franchises in the 3D platforming genre, but when Rare were acquired by Microsoft, things started going downhill for the franchise. They did bring us Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts on the Xbox 360, but that’s a game that’s best left forgotten. Our hope, then, is that Rare and Microsoft get their hands down and deliver a new, proper Banjo-Kazooie sequel. There’s been an awful lot of talk about the property in recent days, what with its crossover with Smash Bros., so Microsoft definitely knows there’s plenty of demand for a revival of the franchise. Will they act on that though? One can only hope.
