XCOM: Enemy Unknown Announced for iOS

Now play the full console/PC experience on your mobile device.

Firaxis has released a new video announcing the porting of critically acclaimed tactical turn based strategy game XCOM: Enemy Unknown…to iOS. Yes, the full game.

Lead Designer Jake Solomon provides a demonstration of how the game works on the iPad, going through the interface and participating in a mission to showcase how to move your units around and issue attack commands. The game is exactly like the experience on consoles and PC, and it’s just amazing to even consider how the developer pulled it off.

As of now, XCOM: Enemy Unknown has no set release date but we would imagine that it won’t stay that way for long. Stay tuned for more details.

Releasing on 2012 under 2K Games, the game marked a return to the classic squad-building and tactical play of the classic X-Com games. It received a Game of the Year award here and there, besides performing quite well commercially.
