If you live in Japan, that is.

yakuza 6

Yakuza Kiwami is the full fledged remake of the very first game in the Yakuza franchise that is launching on the PS3 and PS4 later this month. The prospect of playing the very first game in the series, that was never that good to begin with, with modernized mechanics, is tempting enough on its own- but just to sweeten the deal, the game also comes with an exclusive demo for the upcoming PS4 exclusive Yakuza 6. I like to call this the Final Fantasy Type 0 way of doing things.

Anyway, today it was confirmed that the demo would be going live on January 28 on the Japanese PSN Store (a full week after the launch of Yakuza Kiwami), and that demo codes will be given out with the PS3 version of the game too (even though you need a PS4 to actually play the demo). We also got some new screenshots for Yakuza 6 today, which are all based on the demo. You can check them out below.

Meanwhile, I’m going to go sacrifice a puppy so we can get Yakuza 6 in the west before my grandkids grow old.
