Outside of Resident Evil Requiem, next month is low-key packed with Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined, Nioh 3, Reanimal, and more. But for RGG Studio fans, it’s business as usual, venturing into the world of Yakuza/Like a Dragon for action-packed hijinks and emotional storytelling. This time, Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties is on the menu, and in case you’re keen to try it early, a free demo is out on all platforms (except PS4).
On the Kiwami side is Kazuma Kiryu, the series’ long-standing protagonist, now semi-retired and helping to run an orphanage in Okinawa. That doesn’t mean you can’t run around, smacking enemies with the Dragon of Dojima: Kiwami Style or the Ryukyu Style that encompasses various weapons. Experience a few Substories, customize his outfit, and of course, venture into some karaoke.
Dark Ties focuses on Yoshitaka Mine, the once-and-future antagonist. Kamurocho is his stomping grounds, and you’ll be able to test out his shoot-boxing combat style and Dark Awakening (even though save data won’t carry over).
Thankfully, it isn’t too long a wait for Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties, which is available on February 12th for Xbox Series X/S, PC, PS5, PS4, and Nintendo Switch 2. Head here for more details on what to expect.
