Sega announced Yakuza Online almost exactly year ago, and now they’ve confirmed that pre-registrations have opened for the game. Furthermore, more importantly, a brand new trailer has also been released, which states that the game will be released in Japan this year for the Anroid, iOS, and PC, though a more specific release date wasn’t given.

Although we do know that the game will release this year in Japan, a Western release hasn’t been announced as of now. The game will be free to play and, as such, will make use of microtransactions. The trailer also showcases the series’ new protagonist, Ichiban Kasuga, who is also supposedly going to be the protagonist for the next big game from the series that will make it to consoles, called Shin Yakuza, which was announced alongside Yakuza Online last year. If the game seems interesting to you, you can pre-register here for it. In fact, if it receives more than 100,000 pre-registrations, all of the participants will get an SSR Idol Haruka.

You can check out the new trailer for the game below along with a video that focuses more on the game’s the development team. Yakuza Online is set to release in Japan later this year, and as per the second video, the game will receive more details at Tokyo Games Show in less than a month.
