Falcom has debuted some new footage for Ys 10: Nordics, its next title in the acclaimed action RPG series. The Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana Media Competition Event showcased a scene from the opening event and various gameplay mechanics, including Mana Actions and naval combat. The combat in Ys 10 is called Cross Action and comprises Solo and Combination modes. The former is about speed and can dodge blue aura attacks, while the latter is about powering and guarding red aura attacks, knocking enemies off balance (as seen against the boss). The Mana Actions allow new traversal options, from gliding with a Grimble Board to grappling with enemies.
It also comes in handy during combat, as Adol uses fire attacks and Carja unleashes ice. Players also traverse the world by sailing, using the artillery cannon to fight enemies and discover new locations.
Ys 10: Nordics is out later this year in Japan for PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch. English localization has yet to be confirmed.
