Ys 10: Nordics – Stronghold, Combat Modes, Revenge Meter, and More Detailed

In addition to revealing the position of Ys 10: Nordics in the series’ overall timeline, Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo also detailed the Stronghold and combat when speaking to Famitsu. Translated by Hansuke21 on Twitter, Kondo revealed that while there will be towns to explore, Adol’s Stronghold (or base) is his ship.

The ship gains new functions over time, like a prop collection, recruiting members, and more. As for combat, we already know it has two modes – Solo and Combination. Solo allows for quicker attacks, but Combination, which involves controlling both protagonists simultaneously, provides stronger attacks. The downside of the latter is that your action speed slows down.

Defense is even more important than before due to the Revenge meter. Upon defending against attacks, it will fill up and provide benefits like increased attack power. Ys 10: Nordics releases in 2023 for Japan on PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch. Falcom is planning to demonstrate it in Spring 2023, and the release date should be announced around the same time as previous titles. Stay tuned in the meantime for more updates.

Stronghold(Base):

Although there will be towns in the game, the stronghold of Adol and his party is always on the ship. As the game progresses, ships can unlock various functions, such as prop collection, member recruitment and other elements are also linked to the ship system.

Combat System:

The combat system of this work is divided into two types: "Solo mode" and "Combination mode". Solo mode moves faster, while the other mode can use more powerful attacks by connecting the two protagonists, but the corresponding speed of action will also slow down.

Defense will become more important in "Ys X". Defending against enemy attacks can accumulate a revenge meter, and after a certain amount is accumulated, you can get gain effects such as greatly increasing the character's attack power.
