Star Citizen Reaches $56 Million in Funding

Announcement expected for October 10th.

Cloud Imperium’s Star Citizen has now managed to reach $56 million in crowd-funding.

Chris Roberts released a statement on the same. “Thank you for your continued support! Your belief in the world we’re building together is what makes everything possible.” There is a new announcement for the game planned on October 10th when Citizen Con takes place in Los Angeles. “Be sure to check back then. And tell your friends: the Best Damn Space Sim Ever is coming!”

Backers for the game will be receiving the J-Span Cry-Star ship upgrade for the Arena Commander mode. Cloud Imperium will continue to implement “interesting gameplay mechanics” for co-op player and promises that players will be able to “pursue many diverse roles”. The developer promises that Citizen Con will show “how far we’ve come…and a chance to show you where we’re going next.”
