Watch Dogs Receiving AMD and Nvidia Optimized Drivers on Launch Day

Graphical issues with Ubisoft’s open world title may be resolved sooner than we thought.

If you’ve gotten your hands on a recently leaked copy of Watch Dogs for PC (we won’t ask how) and you’re worried about technical issues with the visuals, then you’ll be happy to know that new graphics drivers for both AMD and Nvidia hardware will be available tomorrow when the game launches.

This was confirmed by Guru3D member Hilbert Hagedoorn who stated that, “BTW both AMD and NVIDIA WILL release an optimized driver tomorrow. We already have access to these and NO we can not distribute it just yet.“

Watch Dogs PC players have reported frame rate drops and stuttering when playing the game, experiencing the issue on hardware as powerful as a GeForce GTX 780 Ti. If these drivers indeed launch when the game becomes available, we can only hope that Ubisoft nips many of these graphical issues in the bud.

Watch Dogs will also be available for Xbox One, PS4, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Thanks for posting this. The peasants are yukking it up on the potato forums. Fortunately our patches and updates don’t have to be approved by Sony or Microsoft. Thank God they made PC the lead platform for this one.

PC and PS4 are different markets with different pros and cons. PS4 has price/performance and simplicity, PCs have a higher potential performance, but generally more expensive and requires time and knowledge to buy, build, and maintain one.

PS4 is comparable to a mid range PC at 1.84TF. PS4 has some interesting architecture benefits over traditional split CPU/GPU split memory pool PCs, and other customizations. For $400 you get a lot of price/performance, more than a $400 PC would get you. PS4 is better than most PCs. PS4 will have lots of good exclusives, both console only and PS4 only.

Xbox/PC fanboys seem to be on a war on people too poor or unwilling/unable to spend time and money buying, building, and maintaining a PC. Mustard race claiming they can afford multi-thousand dollar PCs but too poor to buy a $200-400 console.

Both PS4 and Xbox will have good exclusive games, high end PCs are best for multiplatform games if you have the time, money, and effort to build and maintain one. Only deranged fanboys keep chewing their own legs off screaming about “PS4 peasants”.

They want to hang around the rich, they don’t care about the man. So how does this make you proud of yourself?

    • You_Are_Flat_Out_Peasant

But this is about PC and how PC is the master race, Derp :^)

    • You_Are_Flat_Out_Peasant

Derp getting so blown out by the PC master race he has to deflect to xboners again. How pathetic.

What I don’t understand is, why would pay $500 for an Xbox one and buy a pc also? About a year ago my ps3 crapped out and my computer was about 6 years old. Instead of buying new ones of them both. I spent about $900 and built a gaming computer. My gpu does 2.87TF. Assassin’s Creed 3 looks better on my PC than Assassin’s Creed 4 does on my friends Xbox One. I don’t have to worry about backwards compatible with my pc. The only downside to owning a pc for gaming is that I can’t repeatedly punch the guys at rockstar in the face for not releasing GTA V for PC.

    • You_Are_Flat_Out_Peasant

PC remains master race. 900PS4 version of Watch_Dogs will forever be stuck at potato resolution no matter what MisterTiduXMedia says.

Once again you are a lying and delusional shill, derp

And whatever happens Ultra or not it will only look a little bit better than PS4 because it was made on 360/PS3 aswell.

    • jsoftcheck

Actually, PC was the lead platform for this one, so the potential difference is significant. It’s just a question of how hard you have to downgrade for the console generations.
