Sonic the Hedgehog 2006

By “decent”, we mean “In numerous, non-Sonic the Hedgehog related properties.” After the success of Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, Sega floundered with the property, releasing follow-ups like Sonic Heroes that simply didn’t measure up. Sonic Team was also suffering but everything seemed like it was going to improve with Sonic the Hedgehog in 2006. This was the first real next-gen Sonic title, set to release for Xbox 360 first and then PS3. When it released, it was hailed as one of the worst games ever made. Story, performance, quality assurance, gameplay – everything was utterly pitiful. Other games that followed weren’t nearly as awful but they were far from the glory days of the franchise (save for Sonic Generations and Sonic Mania).
