Star Citizen
So, Star Citizen is not strictly an MMO per se. While the game does have a single player offline option, the multiplayer component is being pushed heavily. This game is being made by Chris Roberts, the director of the Wing Commander game series kickstarted Star Citizen and was able to raise an amazing 14 million dollars in donations for this title.
The history of this developer certainly helps to psyche people up about this title and the lofty goals of being able to explore the galaxy, buy and fully customize your space craft while playing with or against other players is very incising. The website has plenty to promote as well as plenty of development time left. Star Citizen isn’t scheduled for release until the end of 2014, but with what is being offered, hopefully it will be well worth the wait.
