5. DayZ: (Windows, Xbox One, PS4)
This popular ARMA II PC mod based on surviving the zombie apocalypse is getting it’s own stand-alone title that is coming to not only the PC but the PS4 and XBOne as well. This small mod blew up about a year ago on PC. While it is certainly a bit rough around the edges and has experienced it’s share of bugs DayZ offers a great experience and is incredibly fun as well as challenging. DayZ gives die hard fans of zombie games the hardcore experience that some people had been hoping for, for a long time. It will be interesting to see how the consoles adopt such a hardcore style of game play. With a system based around surviving as long as you can things may get pretty crazy after it's launch. The Developers of DayZ have proven they can make a great mod, so let’s hope they have the same drive, quality and vision for their stand alone title.
