Gears 5 – Vasgar

A lot of the marketing material for Gears 5 focused on the snowy expanse of Mount Kadar. While it was entertaining (and downright gorgeous), Vasgar also deserves some credit for being a more “traditional” Gears of War experience, at least initially. The bright red sand permeates everything, including the inside of the ruined interiors but eventually it’s off on the skiff once more, navigating dangerous windflares. The texture and lighting quality is on full display here, turning an empty desert into a messy battlefield.
