SEQUELS TAKE AWAY ALL YOUR LEARNED ABILITIES
This is an entry that is pertinent not to RPGs, but to sequels in RPG franchises. You might have spent the entire first game upgrading and levelling up your character to the fullest to kill them into a badass killing machine with maxed out stats, but at the beginning of the sequel, that same character conveniently seems to have forgotten everything they’d learned in the previous game. Often, games try to contextualize this within the narrative- it still doesn’t make it feel like any less of a blow though.
