ANIMAL CROSSING
Obviously Animal Crossing had to be in here. The whole point of the series is to take an empty piece of land and turn it into whatever type of village, town, or city you want (and yeah, pretty much every game in the series could have been in here, but for the sake of convenience, let’s go with the most recent one). What really stands out in tis particular case, though, is that unlike so many other games, it’s not just the topography of the world that changes based on what you do (and boy does it change, and change exactly the ay you want it to), but other things are affected as well. New shops might open, older ones might expand and thrive, new residents might move in, and others might leave. It makes you feel truly in-charge in a way that not a lot of other games do.
