14 Secrets in Horizon: Zero Dawn You Probably Missed

Open world games come and go but Guerrilla Games’ Horizon: Zero Dawn has become something truly special. Despite releasing in the same week as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Horizon still notched up impressive scores from critics. It even managed to outsell Zelda in the UK during its first week (that can be attributed to any number of reasons but we digress). Players have simply fallen in love with the game’s immense scale, the jaw-dropping visuals and intense combat while more or less ignoring the weird NPC dialogue.

However, now that most of you have had a chance to properly conquer Horizon or at least explore its various nooks and crannies over several dozens of hours, what are some of the bigger secrets and Easter eggs that the world hides? Rest assured that there are more than a few. Some are high, others are low and yes, plenty of them are associated with Hideo Kojima and the upcoming Death Stranding. Let’s take a look at 14 of the more notable ones below.

Stranded Necklace

It shouldn’t be all that surprising to see Death Stranding items considering the former is using the Decima engine, the same engine Horizon: Zero Dawn runs on. The first item you’ll encounter is something called the Stranded Necklace. This the same as the one around Norman Reedus’s neck in the very first trailer for Death Stranding. Make special note of it because this won’t be the last time it appears.
