Chairmen Prescott’s Speech – Gears of War 2
There was a fair amount of hype around Gears of War 2, which started with the premise of the Lightmass Bomb not really stopping the Locust’s campaign of terror. So how did the COG, and by extension the developer, rally the troops/players? By having Chairman Prescott deliver a rousing war speech, announcing a plan of attacking the Horde, and “bringing back the hope of humanity.” Even if it was more of a “had to be there moment”, the speech still holds up surprisingly well over time.
