Returnal
Rogue-lite third-person shooter Returnal is an agonising time loop for Selene after she crash lands on hostile alien planet Atrophos. However, with an arsenal of hi-tech weaponry to discover Selene explores six blooming biomes in search of the “White Shadow” signal, all whilst coming face-to-face with an army of mind-warping extra-terrestrials. Bullet hell arcade sensibilities laid bare, Returnal’s metamorphosing of archetypical weapon types – acid-filled shotguns, shield-equipped grenade launchers, and so on – make Selene’s escape an addictive thrill-ride.
