#12. AEGAEON THE HECATONCHIRES- GOD OF WAR: ASCENSION
God of War: Ascension is, without a doubt, the weakest game in the series, but you wouldn’t feel that way playing through its introductory sequence. In true God of War fashion, Ascension simply knocked it out of the park with its first thirty minutes. Kratos’ multi-legged fight against the Fury Megaera and Aegaeon the Hecatonchires was an epic, action-packed battle that pushed the boundaries of the PS3 in so many ways. Sure, it may not match the scope of some other battles in the series (such as the one against Cronos), and it may not be as laden with context as some of Kratos’ other duels (including the likes of Persephone), but it was still the highlight of what was otherwise a somewhat disappointing game.
