And like Naughty Dog, Insomniac Games gets another trilogy onto this rundown with the first three Resistance games. Set within an alt-history 1950s across the UK and USA, Resistance introduced us to the beguiling alien threat Chimera. It’s cocktail of super-satisfying gunplay mixed with conventional and futuristic weaponry (in a nod to Insomniac’s work on Ratchet & Clank), Resistance was amongst the best FPS titles on the PlayStation 3. Insomniac have moved on to other games but surely there’s appetite out there for a Resistance reboot.
