Remedy Entertainment’s Northlight Engine is a graphical powerhouse, and its biggest strengths can be clearly seen in the excellent sequel that is Alan Wake 2. Right from the immaculately detailed character models to the lighting effects powered by ray-tracing to the dark and dreary environments, Alan Wake 2 wows players with its comprehensive suite of cutting-edge rendering techniques. While the console versions don’t have support for path-traced indirect lighting, Alan Wake 2 is easily one of the best-looking games on the market.
