STARBREEZE’S FINANCIAL STRUGGLES
Starbreeze had a tough few months this year. Early in the year, they published Overkill’s The Walking Dead, and the game did not perform to expectations. In fact, it was, in no vague terms, a massive commercial flop, and a huge factor in the company facing major financial troubles and internal restructuring. Thankfully for Starbreeze, they did not go under, and recently finished a year-long restructuring process, while refocusing their efforts on more successful products like Payday 2, and the development of its sequel.
