Crackdown 3
Originally announced all the way back in 2014, Crackdown 3 was set to take the series to new heights with its switch to an open world and cloud-based destruction mechanics. Those lofty ambitions would continue to keep fans patiently waiting for the game, as Microsoft would keep on delaying the game year after year. Crackdown 3 finally came out in 2019, and it became absolutely clear that the developer’s ambitions had got the better of it this time around.
Crackdown 3 was a mediocre shooter that was marred by uninteresting content and a boring open world. Even the supposedly revolutionary multiplayer component left a lot to be desired, and the game was unanimously panned by critics and fans alike. Crackdown 3 left some hideous scars on the Crackdown brand name, and there’s little hope that the series will ever return at some point in the future.
