Experiment 101 took a massive undertaking with Biomutant, an open-world action RPG that sees players taking control of a customizable mammalian warrior as it embarks on a quest to rid evil in a post-post-apocalyptic world. Fans would patiently wait for information on the game, and following a number of delays – Biomutant was finally released in May of 2021. Critics pointed out issues with the game’s simple combat loop, a barren open-world with nothing interesting to explore. Ultimately, Experiment 101’s ambitions got the better for them and Biomutant – as it stands now – is looking to be the biggest disappointment this year.
