The developer continued to up the game’s action elements with each new entry, and finally crossed the line with 2012’s Resident Evil 6. Series fans didn’t like the game’s current direction, focusing more on action and set-pieces over genuine horror – which ultimately made the entry a divisive one in the franchise.
