DEAD ISLAND: RIPTIDE
After the original Dead Island, the prospect of a standalone sequel offering more of the same seemed like an enticing one, but sadly, Dead Island: Riptide couldn’t keep things simple that way. No, it instead turned out to be an inexplicably worse version of what we all thought was a winning formula. Riptide’s combat was busted, its missions were boring, the story was barely worth paying any attention to, and the game was riddled with technical issues. Even for the staunchest fans of the original Dead Island, it was a hard sell.
