THE CREW 2
Anyone who’d played the first game knew perfectly well what they were getting into with The Crew 2. Developers Ivory Tower once again put players in a condensed version of the entirety of the United States, and told them to go nuts. What helped matters was that The Crew 2 embraced its arcade-y nature more than its predecessor ever did, not only allowing players to drive across an entire continent, but to fly or sail across it as well. The fact that players could switch between land, air, and sea vehicles at the push of a button made for some excellent unscripted open world moments, and while it’s fair to say that the world design itself could feel a bit hollow or unfinished at times, there’s no denying the fact that there was immense joy in the simple act of even driving from the east coast to the west.
