“A LEGEND IS NOTHING BUT FICTION” -SOLID SNAKE, METAL GEAR SOLID 2
This quote is great for multiple reasons- for starters, because it falls so perfectly in line with Metal Gear Solid 2’s central themes of distorted information and meme culture. But also, because it’s true- as a man who’s been turned into a legend himself, Solid Snake knows better than most that the fiction that people create around legends is just that- a fiction. The truth is far less polished.
