Before torturing players with the Nioh series, Team Ninja had Ninja Gaiden. A faster-paced, more hard-hitting and oftentimes, far deadlier style of gameplay that resulted in near-instant deaths for the unprepared. Granted, Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection has various easy modes and while the Sigma versions remove most of the puzzles from the first two games, its combat can still be very punishing on Hard mode. The third game is a whole different story entirely but there’s more than enough challenge in the collection overall.
