Fallout 76
You’re probably noticing a pattern with all of these badly optimized, shoddily designed, terrible live service titles that were cobbled together to serve as little more than recurring revenue for big publishers. In Fallout 76’s case, it’s all the more egregious – this was a narrative-focused role-playing game based on choices and consequences reduced to the very thing it’s themes mocked. Not only was the gameplay terrible but the game’s first few months were riddled with bugs and questionable design decisions. Bethesda has managed to improve it over the years but its monetization, whether it’s having private servers locked behind a Fallout 1st subscription or monetizing quality of life improvements, continues.
