The Entire World is Loaded at Once
Loading times for some open-world games can be fairly absurd, leading to the belief that the entire world is being loaded at once. But look at games like Horizon: Zero Dawn or even The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which circumvent too many loading screens through clever usage of memory. Only certain parts are loaded during gameplay rather than the entire world at once. And with SSD technology becoming the norm for consoles, expect this to improve even more as time goes on.
