The PS5 Pre-Order Debacle
Who could forget the utter chaos of the PS5 pre-order situation? When opened a website to inform customers when pre-orders would go live? When it promised to not just announce it out of the blue, and then did just that after a showcase, resulting in panic among retailers and extensive scalping? Though it promised more stock, the pandemic and subsequent worldwide chip shortage heavily curtailed it, making it almost impossible to purchase the console for a long time. As usual, things got better, but its handling of pre-orders was simply awful.
