Lack of Previous to Current-Gen Upgrades
Not every developer can offer free upgrades for every previous gen title that’s playable on the Xbox Series X/S and PS5. But it’s still annoying to have to purchase Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition on PS5 just to get Spider-Man Remastered. There’s no free or paid upgrade for owners of Spider-Man on PS4. You have to straight up spend $70 more to get it (because it’s not sold separately either). Don’t even get us started on Control Ultimate Edition, which didn’t offer a free upgrade to those who purchased the game and its two separate DLCs…except when it accidentally did at one point. Want to play the game on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S? Better buy it all over again. Purchased it for PS4 in anticipation for the PS5 version? Get it for free on PlayStation Plus for February 2021. You just can’t win.
