5. No Open World

In trying to make their games better, developers try to make their games as big as possible, giving as much freedom to the players as they can. This recipe will not work in Doom’s favour because the game is never looked at in the sort of light.
Id Software in savvy in their approach so we know that they’re capable of delivering a good game without making it open world. Although some parts of it may need special attention if the developers decide to give a wider view of the surroundings.
